M.A.D. is a non-political campaign group formed in opposition
to the proposed expansion to the South Lancs. Industrial Estate.

We are affiliated to no political party but hope for the support of all.

We aim to raise public awareness of the proposed
development and make the council aware of the
strength of feeling against it.

We hope that the voice of public opinion will be
listened to, and the planners and supporters of the
development in Wigan council will take notice.

We believe that more industrial warehousing would
have a huge negative effect on the whole of the
Ashton in Makerfield area.

M.P. for Makerfield, Ian McCartney has backed us calling the proposed
extension an "a development too far".

All Ashton and Bryn councillors are against the proposed site and are
backing the M.A.D. cause. We have also had messages of support
from councillors outside the area.

M.A.D. receives a lot of help from volunteers in many different ways
and could not carry out the many different tasks needed to run an
effective campaign without this valuable support.
